Frances has a number of passions, among them writing, horseback riding, history, & hats. Did I mention writing?
Starting with personal essays, she soon
expanded into writing for magazines, mostly historical features. Her
work has appeared in The Family Chronicle, The History Magazine, Herb
Quarterly, and she is a regular contributor to Renaissance Magazine. Her
original
essay Graelem's Song was winner of the Creative Writing Contest held by
the nature journal, Whisper in the Woods, in 2006.
Frances achieved her MFA in Creative Writing at Lesley University. Her thesis, Hats: Family, Females, & Fashion is a memoir with a mystery, the search for secrets in her maternal heritage. Frances is also at work on a historical novel, and continues to write for magazines. Her next feature will appear in the March 2012 issue of Renaissance Magazine.
She lives in lovely New England with her devoted husband Clark, their Boston Terrier, her American Paint Horse, and
two Persian cats.
